OPERATION THICKET BREACH - Know Your Enemy

Operation Thicket Breach has officially begun!

The area around the Putney Ridge Apiary has become seriously overgrown, so we're taking it back — but we're not blindly cutting everything in sight.

First comes reconnaissance.

We scanned the field to identify what was actually growing there, including white campion, goldenrod, American burnweed, daisy fleabane, brambles, grapevine and deer tongue.

Some plants provide valuable resources for pollinators. Others don't belong in the area we're trying to reclaim.

And then there's Buckthorn.

Enemy #1.

This is only Phase One. The path is cleared, the beachhead is established, and the next phase of Operation Thicket Breach is coming.
